At my parents house (I dont live there) they have ended up with four cats and they have major difficulties keeping the litter box and area clean. My dad is the only one who will take resonsibility and clean this area up.
They keep the litter box in the bathroom on the main floor and it is completely taken over by the cats. Its disgusting, from the smell (which they have many different odor freshners and an air purifier), the litter gets tracked out of the box and all over the floor. Its just really bad and nobody uses that bathroom. He cleans it everyday to two days.
I’ve already suggested more box’s around the house as well as a different kind of litter box (like the self cleaning litter robot).
Im looking for new or different ideas or suggestions that may help or work.
Does anyone else have a similar problem or had?
The Omega Paw Roll ‘n Clean Litter Box is one of the easiest litter boxes to clean. No scoops or liners are needed. Simply roll the entire litter box over and the litter clumps and waste are trapped neatly in the waste bin. Pull out the bin, empty into the trash and the litter box is clean! I have a ordinary cat litter box + 3 cats = a lot of work to clean the cat litter box.I’m thinking about getting that electronic-automatic- self cleaning cat litter box that is 0 dollors. I don’t know if I shoulf get one of those or not. Is it worth it, or a rip off? Do you have one? Do you recomend one?
I was thinking about getting one of those self cleaning litter boxes and wanted to know how people who have them feel about them?? I would like to make sure they aren’t a waste of money. I also have 2 cats and I know they say to only use those for one cat. So, does anyone have the litter box and have more than one cat??
cat-windowperch.com – Make your cat healthier and happier with the LitterMaid Elite Mega Automatic self-cleaning litter box that is ideal for extra-large cats or multiple cat households. Once the cat leaves the unit, sensors are triggered to turn on the ionizer and timer. After 10 minutes, the cleaning cycle starts and rake moves clumps toward the waste receptacle. The rake opens the waste receptacle cover and deposits clumps before closing cover and returning to the home position. Sealed disposable waste receptacle with carbon filter allows for safe, easy disposal of waste. This box is not commercially rated; it is for residential use for 2-3 cats.

I have one closet in the living room, well two, but a heater is taking up one and I can’t close the door to where it is.. umm…I don’t want it out in the open. We don’t have a basement. hmmm..She is very messy! Not in the kitchen, yuck! umm.. no room in the bathroom. Maybe it should be in a closet! Oy, we have no room for this thing! I was thinking of getting a litter maid… That self cleaning litter box. But where the heck do we do it!?
I have 2 cats, and we recently invested in a PetSafe Simply Clean Self Cleaning Litter Box. I’ll post the link below in case that will help. Overall, the litter box works very well. It basically is always moving, very slowly. It does a great job of catching all of the "# 2′s", but the litter seems to get ruined by the urine. It gets broken up into little pieces and are all through the litter. I am not sure exactly why this is happening because they clumps are not small enough to fall through cracks on the ramp that leads to the container.
One thing I have noticed is that the cats seem to dig to the bottom and pee on the plastic, because when i scoop the bits out, there is a lot stuck to the bottom of the box. i tried using Pam this last time, and it did nothing. Any Ideas out there, or tips with these boxes? Thanks!
Right now I am using Tidy Cats Multiple Cats. I have thought about switching, but never knew what to get.
Also, The litter box just says to use a clumping litter. It is not very specific.
