Hi, i have a 5 year old cat pooping and peeing around my house. I have a self cleaning litter box and my litter is fresh step. I do not have any other pets in my house except a fish. I have some plants in the house, and i see my persian cat eating them frequently. I noticed recently that sometimes he doesn’t poop/pee in the litter box. I see pee on walls sometimes, and poop, on random places, any diagnoses? And also, why is my cat doing this?
Also, I have a young 4 year old child, who sometimes scares him, but i dont think he makes him pee.
We raised our female cat from a kitten and now shes about 5 years old. We recently adopted a stray male cat estimated to be about 6-7 years old from the Humane Society because we were told he likes other dogs and cats (we also have 2 dogs). We have had the male cat for a four or so months now. Our female cat seems to want to be friends with the male now after a period of adjustment, but he HATES her. He picks fights if she comes near him ( to play or cuddle doesn’t matter). Also we have 2 liter boxes (one is an expensive self cleaning litter box we bought for the male thinking it would fix the following problem). He will use the liter box once or twice after it is cleaned, but once she uses one of them, and he can then smell her, he marks all around the edge of the large basement we keep the liter boxes in and defecates in the middle of the floor. We have tried scolding him, using anti-marking sprays, bought the expensive liter box.
We have really fallen in love with him because he is such a sweetheart with people, but he has ruined the floor in the finished basement as I am cleaning multiple piles of poo and urine on a daily basis and I can’t take it anymore. Any suggestions to get him to stop hating the female so much?
As a side note he strangely doesn’t mind the obnoxious dogs as much, sometimes he lets the poodle cuddle with him.

I don’t know what to do. My female cat is pooping (and peeing) all over the house. I got the expensive cleaning products that are supposed to get rid of the cat smell (to keep her from going back to the same place), and cat boundarie spray to keep her away from any places where she potties; but it’s not working. I think part of the problem is she’s sharing a litter box with 2 male cats (one of which chases her around), but it’s a self cleaning litter box so I don’t really see the problem. I also let her out as often as she wants to go, and I’m trying to find a new home for the territorial male but need a solution in the mean time. Any advice would be appreciated. THANX!
I have been wanting a cat for a while now, but lately I have been doing a bit of research. I found that Siberian cat’s don’t have or have a much lower level of the allergy inducing protein in their dander. I told my allergic mom that, but she doesn’t seem to care. She says the if we were to get another pet (we have a Wheaton Terrier) we would get a dog because:
She grew up with a dog,
We have a large home and yard,
and dogs are more friendly.
She also doesn’t like:
The Litter Box smell,
The way cats jump on the counter,
The fur,
The “unfriendly-ness”
And she’s allergic.
I explained that she might not have a reaction to Siberian cats, and with lots of affection cats can be very friendly too. I have also been doing research and found that there are self cleaning litter boxes (not all of them work so well) and you can toilet train a cat! The counter tops there’s not so much you can do about that, but you can squirt them with a mist when they do. I would love grooming my cat (I love giving my dog bath’s and grooming her) and I would help, or at least try, to help vacuum and clean up after the cat. I would also keep my cat indoors unless she had a harness and leash. If it turned out she was allergic to Siberians, I would be fine. I just want her to TRY!!!! >=( Another thing she says: “You’re just interested in cats because you’re BORED! NOOOOOO WAY! I’ve wanted a cat my whole life. Especially since my BFF just got a cat. Her cat showed me just how fun they can be…. And how much work. The reason she thinks I’m bored is because I’ve been lounging around all summer and have just recently been reading cat books and researching on-line. She makes me soooo frustrated, please help!!!
P.S. I haven’t told her abound my “researching,” I want to think up a good speech.
I was also planning on adopting a Siberian. I’ve found a couple of adoption websites that lead to adoption centers across the US, I’ve found a couple of Siberians in need of a home (not that I’m expecting to adopt a cat so soon).

We have a self cleaning litter box which is emptied regularly. My dog, however, has figured out how to wedge herself between the couches (which used to deter her) and get to the box. She can now open the lid to the collecter part and eat the poo. I gotta be honest I know from the vet that the poo won’t hurt her since it’s our cat and he’s completely healthy… but the litter has to be bad for her system and she’s gotta be eating some of it. And it’s totally discusting. Does anyone out there have any suggestions. I can’t move the litter box, our apartment is super small and this is the only place I have for it.
