I just bought a new litter box called, the CatGenie, and it’s awesome. It’s self cleaning. My cats don’t want to use it for some reason though. We put their old litter box next to it so they can see what it is and stuff, but they jump in it, sniff around, look as if they are going to go potty, but jump out and go to the original. How do I train them to use it? I’m getting tired of the cat poop smell. Thank you all who contribute!**
***Note: The new litter box does not contain litter, but little granules that are washable. To see it in action click here—-> http://www.catgenie.com/
I really love my littermaids. I’ve now gone through 4 of them. Even though they do seem to wear out, or break, they worked well for me in the past. I bought these, thinking they were similar to my older versions. It’s not. And seems to have some serious issue. www.walmart.com Reference: MVI_1042.MOV
My family has three cats living in one house, this was never a problem until one cat started going to the bathroom outside of the litter box. The other two have now picked up on it, and they go to the bathroom anywhere they think is a good spot. The litter box stays clean (it is a automatic-self cleaning one), all we have to do is empty the cart when it is full, and it is fairly big for one box, so I don’t think overcrowding has anything to do with it ( I know you are suppose to get 1 cat box per 2 cats). How exactly do I go about letting these cats know that I’m not going to play by their rules anymore? What steps can I take to show them that going outside of the box to go to the bathroom is just not happening anymore?
